Head to toe natural health!

The Universal Healing Sanctuary was founded by Beverley Marsden in 1999.  Having trained as a Reiki Master (teacher) and Reflexologist, she found that there was more to know about the workings of the universe than her teachers ever revealed to her.

This prompted her to research, learn and finally become a teacher herself in many natural health practices.

Beverley began by giving Reflexology and Reiki treatments in her Sanctuary where many of her clients requested that she teach.  It was just a few years of resistance and then her teachings began.

She started off by training many students in the subtle energy healing method of Reiki (a Japanese word meaning: “Rei” = Universal and “Ki = Energy).

It was during this time that she founded, along with close colleagues, a non-profit organisation, the Reiki Masters Association of South Africa that supports master teachers all over Southern Africa. (find a Reiki Master in your area: www.reikihealing.co.za )

From there, she developed her own Reflexology course which she trademarked as The Art of Feet®.  Incorporated in her Reflexology course is her informative and fun painting day, aptly called The Art of Feet®, compulsory for her students, but open to everyone from the age 12 upwards. At this painting session, where absolutely no artistic talent is required, the feet reveal the path that has been walked as well as the future that could be travelled.

Added to her knowledge which she then shared through teaching was Aromatherapy: the use of essential oils, their chemistry and their benefitsalong with different types of massage techniques. She added Hot Stone Massage as a variation.Beverley has shared her Art of Feet® classes with the social workers at Johannesburg Child Welfare, has shared together with her colleagues, Indian Head & Shoulders Massage with the teenage orphans at Entokozweni.Did you know? The human foot is comprised of 26 bones (a ¼ of the bones in the entire human body); The human foot has 33 joints;more than 100 muscles and tendons;AND in Reflexology, the entire body is represented on the feet – the left side of the body on the left foot and vice versa. The toes represent the head region. The ball of the foot is the chest and ribcage area. The arch of the foot is the digestive system and kidneys and the heel of the foot is the pelvic, lower spine area. Rowan Atkinson once asked – in Reflexology, where is the “foot” on the “foot”? The answer is … it is found just under the outer ankle bone!Having taken a bit of sabbatical, Beverley is back in action, sharing her knowledge and wisdom with students who want to learn for the purposes of helping family and friends. The Art of Feet® painting sessions will be held on a monthly basis on Saturday mornings starting January 2016.To find out more about home and family training in The Art of Feet® Reflexology/ Aromatherapy/ Herbology/ Hot Stone Massage or Indian Head & Shoulders Massage, visit:
